What was your 1st, second car?

What was the car that made you own 2 Oldsmobiles?
I owned my Rallye for close to 10 years and ALWAYS thought it was the coolest model ever made before buying my ‘65.
Now I daydream constantly about my ‘65s.

So now that you own 2 or more…which is the favorite?

My first was the hand-me-down 68 Vista (which was only six years old at the time!). The second was the 68 442 I pulled from a wrecking yard and rebuilt. I've owned at least one Olds continuously since 1974, although I think the last time I only had one was in 1980 (that was a 1972 442 4spd that I drove from MA to CA to start my first job after college). I think the last time I only had two was in 1981.

My first car was a 75 Cutlass Supreme with the 260 engine and the second was a 1971 Cutlass with a 350 engine that I bought and never drove it. I use that car as a parts car and donated to charity as a tax write off.

My first car was a 1970 Challenger which I had while I was still in school. Although I left it at home. Between my Freshman and Sophomore year I sold it and put an ad in the local newspaper; Wanted Chevelle SS454 of Hurst Olds. Ended up with the Chevelle, an LS6 car, which I still have today. Recently (compared the decades since placing that ad) I got the Hurst Olds. I think this is a good starting and stopping point for me.

My first was the summer of 1969 when I purchased a pristine dk. gold plain Jane 1967 column shift 442. That 442 made three spring break (1970-1972) RT road trips from IL to FL (Ft. Lauderdale). My second was a 1972 442 (purchased in Riverside, CA), blue + white center stripes. That 442 made four RT road trips (1976-1981) from CA to IL. Owning both of those Oldsmobiles led me to purchase my current 1971 CS (2018-present). I have no favorite - each stands on its own.

Here you go, in the early-mid 60's my neighbor was on leave from Fort Riley, Kansas on his way back to Milwaukee in the 53, the motor came apart. My brother bought it for me for $15.00. I was hooked ever since.

My first car was a burgundy 76 Cutlass Supreme, 350-4. Everything was rusted on that car. Drove it till the rear passenger side control arm ripped off the frame. My second was a 71 boat tail Riviera, fastest car I've ever owned.

My first car was a used '69 4-4-2 holiday coupe with bucket seats, console and THM 400, purchased in 1972 for $1800. I bought it because my parents had a '68 4-4-2 convertible that I really liked. We sold my first car in 1981 for $1000 and really missed it so we bought our second 4-4-2, a '69 convertible, in 1987 for $3500. And then in 2003 through an unusual sequence of events, we ended up getting my parents' old '68 from my sister, who took it apart in 1981 and it sat that way for 22 years before she gave up on restoring it. We retrieved it as a body on a rolling frame, engine on a stand, and parts in boxes all over the place. Both the '68 and '69 are now restored and we fortunately have a large garage/shop space for both of them plus our two drivers.

My first car was a 64 Nova, then a 76 Comet, a 75 Cordoba (with the rich Corinthian leather!!) then my current 69 Cutlass. I have owned at least on of every year cutlass/442 from model year 68 to 88.

I would love to know where my 87 t-top 442 ended up, I’d love to have it back.

Besides my current 68, the 87 442 I had, my favorite Olds was probably the 85 T top cutlass Calais I bought from a used car lot here in town. I paid 950 bucks for it, it had a knocking 3.8 buick engine. I planned to swap in a 403 when the v6 blew up, it never did die. The one engine I beat like it owed me money, didn’t take care of, abs wanted to quit, never did.

Hard to tell what color your 69 is? I had a neighbor that had a boyfriend with a red white top black interior 69. He had a belt issue I think it was on the side of the road. He sold it on the spot for next to nothing. He was not a car guy at all. That black and white picture makes me think of that car.

My first car, the '69 holiday coupe, was sable with the white vinyl top and gold interior. The '69 with the '68 is cameo white with a black top and interior. The '68 is provincial white with a black top and interior.

Nice to hear all of the progression you Olds guys have made.
Living in NYC it was always hard for me to own even ONE Olds.
I’m making up for it now that I’m in FLA.

My first car at 16 in 1985. Worked at a local machine shop in town and i wanted to pull the original, tired Pontiac 301 out ofit. Asked my boss if he had any engines he can "donate " to me to rebuild. He said " Grab that Olds 350 in the corner of the shop and have at it". Built it, put a 3.73 peg leg rear in her and had some fun. Got the boat into the mid to low 14s. Surprised a lot of those Mustang GTs at the time. Great memories!!

I come from an Oldsmobile family (my dad's family exclusively drive Oldsmobiles from 1958-1984). My first car was a 1988 Oldsmobile Cutlass Calais International Series which I drove daily from 1990-2002.

My "first, second car" was a 1971 Volkswagen Super Beetle. I bought it in 1994 to learn how to repair cars and used it as a sunny-day driver. It taught me lots of lessons!

My first car was a '69 442 convertible back in 1974. Had that one though high school then sold it when I went into the Air Force in '77, but never lost the love of 442s. I bought a new Trans Am in '78 which went through major changes during the 12 years I owned it. Fast forward to 2002 when I bought a new T-Bird which I owned until 2019 when I sold it and bought the H/O. This one is here to stay!

My first car was a 1968 Opel Kapitän with a straight six and 4 speed on the column. But mine was black , owned a blue Admiral -66 later.

A friend of mine in the late seveties owned a Oldsmobile Cutlass 1966 4 dr hardtop . Maybe this had something to do with
that i have Olds .Looked a long time after a -65 Dynamic / Delta convertible but i had desided that next convertible must have
power windows so i gave that up and purchased the 98 instead. We have always had Opel in our family when i was young , an
uncle had one like this Opel Kapitän 1960 :

I mostly only ever had Mopars until the early 2000's except for 1 Ford ('68 Cougar XR7) and a '76 Vette when I moved to FL - '74 Dart Swinger 318 w/rallye wheels and factory am/fm pushing through Jensen Triaxial speakers in college... thereafter a succession of other Mopars to include a '74 Plymouth Fury III, 2 different Gold Dusters (one with the fold-down rear seat option), and finally onto my all-time fave '68 Charger R/T clone (triple black like the Bullitt car).

Even with all that, a high school buddy's parents had a clapped out '70 Cutlass Supreme convertible wearing an old brown repaint with a primered l/side fender. Seemed like every other bolt holding the car together was missing but it always took us everywhere. Loved that car. So fast forward to my FL move, decided I wanted my own ragtop and after stalling on the final leg of a '72 Skylark ragtop project, sold it in 2016 to finance the unexpected purchase opportunity of my current ride (which I then tore apart and upgraded all mechanical and electrical systems more to my tastes for speed and handling).

But as you can see in the background, I still haven't lost my Mopar roots - daily ride an '18 Challenger T/A Plus 5.7 Hemi

1st was a 1969 Delta 88 4 door in Palamino Gold with a 455/400 and a Wonderbar Am Fm radio. 2nd was a 1966 Pontiac Grand prix with a 389/400 trans. The olds blew the doors off the Grand Prix. Worked with a guy with a Chevy Monza with a 305 in it.He was a bit embarrassed when he lost to the Delta. The 69 was a beast.

1st car I had "access" to was my mother's hand-me-down 1966 Ninety Eight LS. Car had more gadgets than a contemporary spacecraft, and for a big car would get up and dance!

First car that had my stamp was a 66 442 Sports Coupe that I transplanted a slightly warmed-up 67 Toronado 425 into. Big fun, and right when I got it on the road the first manufactured fuel crisis hit. It got about 8mpg downhill with a tailwind. Not good for a skinny kid making $1.80/hr bagging groceries!

Went thru a series of Firebirds and Thunderbirds after that and came back to Oldsmobile when I bought the first 64 Starfire in 1984.

The only 2 Oldsmobiles I've ever owned were my very first car, a 1967 Olds Cutlass Supreme 2 door Holiday Coupe. And my current car, a 1967 Olds Cutlass Surpreme 2 door Holiday Coupe was purchased as a failed father and son project for my sons first car. This one will probably be the last.

My second car was a 68 AMC Rebel.

My first car was a hand-me-down 61 Rambler Ambassador from my mother. Actually was a pretty neat car as it had the AMC 327 V8, push button auto trans and posi. Of course it also had the famous AMC fold-down seats. Second car I bought with my own money - a 62 Pontiac Bonneville 2 dr hardtop. Sky Blu with a beautiful multi toned blue interior. Unfortunately, I have no pictures of either one.

I got sidetracked on the 4-4-2 models so I never said what my second car was. Here it is - a 1977 Pontiac Grand Prix SJ that I bought in 1981 for $2400. I really liked this car as well and it was my first family car with air conditioning which I thought was really neat. Where I grew up, only rich people had an air conditioned car. I had moved into the bigtime! And it came with a 403cid Oldsmobile engine!

First Car: '64 Chevy Impala 2 dr ht 409/400 hp, Muncie M-20, 3.36 open(!) rear, Ember Red w/ black SS interior.

First Olds: (actually my mom's but I got to use it when the Chevy was down, which was frequently) '64 Cutlass convertible, 330/290, Jetaway, Provincial White with black top and bucket (no console) interior.

Second Olds: (all mine!) '67 Delta 88 4 dr ht, 425/365, THM 400, also Provincial White with medium blue interior. Couldn't believe this beast would light the tires on the 1-2 upshift.

Good lookin' car, Randy! Was the 403 from the factory? I didn't think Pontiac ran out of L-78s until midway through the '79 model year.

1st car was a 75 Cutlass Salon. Just a beautiful low miles car
2nd car was 72-442 455 car. Gorgeous car.
3rd car was a 85 T-Top Cutlass
4th car was 87 T-Top Cutlass\
5th car Chevy 79 Z28 that burnt to the ground for no apparent reason.
6th Olds car is a 70-442 4 speed Vert. Astro Blue, black int, black top, white hood stripes, white pin striped lower body. Trailer worthy, yet I drive it hard once a month. Restored front to back, etc. Money pit that is nearly perfect in everywhere way, amazingly fast rebuilt original motor, trans and rear end car. Numbers match across the board. Quite the find. It's a stump pulling machine and gorgeous to boot. Will smoke/chirp tires 1st to 4th gear. As a stock car, it is amazing fast

The 403 in the '77 Pontiac Grand Prix was from the factory. I remember being disappointed at first but the engine ran great through transfers from California to Virginia, Virginia to Florida, and then Florida back to California from 1981 to 1989.

Those Grand Prix's always seemed to ride so smooth. SJ model even. Cool to see snowflakes on a Grand Prix. Great looking car in those colors.

I owned a 64 Grand Prix. Different beast but I loved that car. So much stainless on the interior.

I started off pretty lame.
My grandad had to stop driving so I got his 88 celebrity eurosport, black w grey interior. I sold it and bought a 55 chevy 2 door hartop. Primer grey 350 w a 4speed, mr gasket z gate vertical shifter and workign side pipes. it came w a 2 door chieftain and a 4 door 55 chevy parts cars I probalby got to drive it about 4 times...
About this time i was gifted a 53-54 ish IH truck it had the horitzontal grill not the vertical one maybe a r-110 or l-110 .. my dad sold it while i was out of town...

so a 55 chevy and 5? ish IH truck are always on my list to get back....... one day
