Have them fixed. You will never be happy living with these defects.

$1500 is not alot of cash for a paint job! I'm assuming you and the painter agreed to what and how he was going to refinish your car!

Is this a bona fide shop, or someone doing it in his garage??
A shop you've got recourse with the BBB, etc.
With a schlock in his garage, turn him in to the EPA/city for painting w/o a booth!!

You can't expect much for $1500 but that's pretty crap body work. I don't know if I'd let him work on it again he might make it worse.

I'd be more concerned about the bubbling and lack of prep under the doors, and trunk area! The fish eyes and the other minor imperfections are easy to fix. And I gues you already paid him? Your in a tough spot here, was there any warranty included? Anything in writing??

I had a wash and wear paint job put on my 1988 Thunderbird 5-6 years ago. I sent $1200 on the paint job. He installed a new front bumper cover and a drivers door, and removed a dent in the quarter. I drove this car daily since.

When I traded the car in, the lower quarters were just starting to give way. Not bad, but little cracks were happening. My guess is after this coming winter it would have looked pretty bad.

There were a couple of dust marks in the paint, nothing like this though. Overall it was a good 20 footer car, and the paint was Ford's Medium Wedgewood Blue, a dark blue.

My point? This guy clearly isn't very good, unless you had a ton of body work done, rust repair, etc. It'd talk to him, maybe he'll fix it, maybe he won't. If he does, It'd get something in writing stating some sort of a warranty, if not, report him for operating an illegal body shop.

For $1500 you get what you pay for........Apparently some sort of sealing primer was not used.......For that money iam surprised the paint doesnt run off in the rain.......This just my .02 on this,For a top notch job you should have $1500 worth of supplies only not including the labor..........Maybe you can work with the guy to get a it fixed up,But with the rust coming thru this quick it wont be long before it will be really bad..........Good luck man.............Jerr

the cost of the paint alone was more than 1500 for my car. Sure there are issues but heck 1500 for a paint job, was that Behr paint he used what was his hourly rate $3.35

Yep.

Only $1500 You got what you paid for.
This looks like a MAACO special quick job you paid for with no body work.
The price isn't high enough to include much of the body work that's needed to set a good base for the paint.

There's only so much the paint shop can be expected to do without proper prep work being paid for.
