What is it worth? 67 Cutlas Supreme

What do you guys think this car is worth?
I have been looking at this car since last December, finally the lady decided that she might want to sell it. It's a 67 Cutlass Supreme, family owned since new, her grandfather's car. It has been converted to propane back in 1970, New battery, brakes, bearings, O ring, oil pan, tires, headliner. No rust whatsoever. It's really clean, I am not sure about the propane thing.
Wondering what would be a fair price for both of us.
Thanks.

That engine is an odd color. I guess it could be a very weathered gold. It should have a 330 with numbered heads of which the number I forget. If it's a big block, it would be an E 400 with C heads, and that would be the elusive Turnpike Cruiser. 425s were red that year, same heads, different block ID, and incorrect for that car.

Being a rust free, 90% original, good running car, I'd put its value at about 7-8k. Restored, that car will top out at 15 or so. Do you like propane for a fuel? Even if you do, you can try to argue it down some with that.

I'd put the value closer to $5k. The propane setup is not a perk for me, but can be removed and sold off.

I wonder if here grandfather was a farmer since it has a propane conversion. I bought a Chevy pickup one that had a propane conversion on it.Propane used to have a big price advantage but that has not been the case for several years. It burns a lot cleaner than gasoline. The engine in the truck looked like new at 75,000 miles. I would not count on getting anything for the propane conversion. It is easy enough to take off. It is really unusual to see one on a car.

I never did go look at it it is fairly close to Lemoore where my son was stationed

I did get a lot of detailed pictures of the car….. just looked to see if i still had them but i don't

it has front channel rust...and rear channel rot i thought for sure the package tray would need to be replaced…. can`t remember how the trunk pan was .it also has lower dog leg issues was hard to tell from the pics if it was just maybe a patch on them.. or maybe some brace work on the back of the heel was needed as well

front seats need new covers for sure …and being a post coupe would have to made no one repops the covers for them…. Pui might but i would never buy from them

Thanks man. You were right, I don't think it's worth it. Decided not to go with this one, not trying to do any major restoration. Still looking.

Thank you guys.

PS did find a 67 442 convertible. Not too big on rare cars as I like to modify them to my driving needs. Not a purist by all means, I like to keep up with modern cars and carve corners. Maybe somebody will restore it, I would end up replacing/modifying everything starting with that 400.

Yeah, it would be a shame to replace that 400. Good call on keeping looking, that 400 is one of the best engines Olds made.

Oh Koda, I would do stuff to that car that would make you purist guys cry.
I wouldn't replace the 400 but I would modify it, that thing would have aluminum heads, electric fuel pump, aluminum rad., electric fans, big brakes, new suspension, to name a few.
That's why I am looking for a Cutlass and not a 442, not because I can't afford it, but because I don't want to ruin the originality of a nice car.
That's just me. Everybody is different.

It would be your car, so whatever. Destroying its value only makes mine worth more.

I don't buy them as an investment so value doesn't mean anything to me.
