What Winch

Merry Christmas to everyone. If you guys were going to buy a winch in the 5,000 lb. range to go on your car hauler/trailer, what would you get? Harbor Freight is pushing Badlands brand at really low prices, you get what you pay for. Thanks

I purchased a harbor Freight winch and it was a piece of garbage. I then bought an 8000 pound winch from 4wd.com it was $299.99 and that was shipped. I have had it 4 years and use it often on my car trailer and it has been great! It is a Smitty built I think their deal is not for same money on a 9000 version.

Like anything, go one size bigger. Since all of them are made in China, it matters not. My 3000 pound boat has been decent, a manual crank option is also good, I use that most of the time on my boat.
