One must-see in Las Vegas is The Auto Collections at the Imperial Palace Hotel. I was there three years ago, and it's well worth the visit. There are a few Oldsmobiles as well as lots of other interesting cars.

The collection is actually housed in a closed-off section of the parking garage. It's very well done.

You also want to hit the National Automobile Museum (the Harrah Collection) in Reno.

NHRA Museum in Pomona. SOCAL Speed Shop also in Pomona. Peterson Museum in LA. If you can, take a ride up Route 66 and make it to Bonneville... an amazing place!

x2 on the National Auto Museum in Reno.

When in Vegas, try to catch a race at the Las Vegas Motor Speeday. They have 8 different tracks including a circle dirt track and off-road truck racing track. The events on the dirt tracks are actually pretty cheap.

Have fun.

Also try to go to the San Sylmar collection in Sylmar Ca in the San Fernando Valley just above LA. Unbelievable collection of not only cars, antique hood ornaments and huge pipe organ room full of very interesting enormous music machines before juke boxes were invented. They also have a complete steam locomotive train with two or three cars that were completely restored, and have a complete library. The museum consists of two buildings across the street from one another, admission is free just have to call ahead and they will give you a date and time to see the collection. Well worth your time. Have a great holiday.
