What a pleasure to drive

I finally got my 71 Cutlass Supreme hardtop set up to a point where it drives awesome. It is not a car to take to the track. The 455 is pretty much stock. 70 heads, higher compression shallow dish stock replacement pistons, iron intake, rebuilt Quadrajet from Guaranteed Carburators (they didn't send the right choke but we made it work), turbo 400 transmission, 323 posi Rear end, rear disc brake conversion.
I had all the front end parts and bushings done about 10 years ago and the car was shortly thereafter mothballed.
I just replaced the out of round tires which was the last thing needed to make the car drive right. I took it out tonight on the back county highway to Mount Rainier and it drove so nice. The car takes the 30 mph curves at 50 and 60 as smooth as silk, no lean or skid. Wickedly nimble for a 50 year old car. The power is smooth and responsive. I'm really glad I didn't go for speed modifications. The car will do 100 without pushing it at all. I have a 2015 Mustang GT, it's faster, but it doesn't drive so effortlessly.

Nice to hear you have made it so much the way you wanted it to be and will be able to get out and enjoy with the big smile on your face. Worth the wait and effort. Have fun!

The incredible amount of hours testing and perfecting a new car is staggering. You're reaping the benefits of Olds engineers and stylists putting out a great product in a highly competitive market. Great story, but no cherry on top, some pictures would be great.

it does now that I went with a Quadrajet. The picture shows the Edelbrock which was lame.
