Saw this hood on CL. I've seen plenty of goods with vents at the top or vents on the sides, but can't recall seeing one with both styles

I think I read all 71 and 72 with a/c got the rear louvres. Also it is not the Cutlass Supreme hood because it didn’t get the side vents.

Other way around. Cars with A/C did NOT get the vents at the base of the windshield - and that was for 1972 model year only. The chrome fake louvers were only used on the Cutlass S and 442 models in both years. F85s (and the 1972 Cutlass Hardtop coupe), more doors, wagons, and Supremes did not get the chrome louvers (unless they were W29 cars for 1972).

Of course, today all of them have repro W25 hoods anyway...

That's probably why it's for sale 🙂

Actually ANY Cutlass model could have the louvered hood if it had the Y75 Outside Sport Appearance Package. (This option also included a body side stripe and wheel opening mouldings.) My 1971 Cutlass (Not an "S") came with the chrome fake louvers. The 1971 Assembly manual says its for 3100 and 3200 models with Y75 or Y78; all 3577, 3587, 3677, and 3687; and 4400 without W25 or W30.

RPO Y75 was only available on Cutlass coupes for the 1971-72 model years, so only the 3187 and 3287 models.

The Cutlass S hood was also included in the RPO Y78 Cutlass Value Package, but only on the V8 coupes (3287 models)

The revision notes for that page of the Assembly Manual say, "10-16-70 35Y78 USAGE ADDED" and "1-22-71 USAGE NOTE REVISED" (without further clarification; the club coupes may have been added then.)

While the base Cutlass models could get the hood with Y75, it seems they didn't get a hood pad. "407108-HOOD INSULATOR (EXC. 3100, 3200, 35W25 & 30...)"

There were no Cutlass Club or Sport Coupes offered in the 1971-72 model years. The only 2drs offered in the base Cutlass line in those years were the 3187 (six cylinder) and 3287 (V8) Hardtop Coupes. The only "77" body style offered was in the Cutlass S line (3577 and 3677) for those model years. Note, FYI, that what Olds called the "Cutlass" (no "S") model line in 1971-72 was the car formerly known as F85 in prior years - the 31xx and 32xx cars.
