What is 'Mamboo' and AA, BB etc?
Kind of a curiosity. I was looking through my 72 CSM just a little while ago for a particular color reference when it suddenly leapt out at me.....
Right there on Page 0-21 in the 'Painte Chart Exterior Colors' was
Code 81 - Mamboo
I know what it's supposed to be , so does everyone else. I looked at the AM and SPECS to see if this was duplicated, but no it's not.
So, TonyCutlassS if you read this thread, your car is now officially 'Mamboo' with a saddle interior....
Now the Vinyl roofs and vert tops? They're listed as AA BB FF GG TT. But I've yet to see or hear about an A body cowl tag for 72 where the PNT code shows that. Usually it's shown as A, B, F, G and T and a #code for paint. Anyone?? Seems kind of confusing to read this so often and then 'ding ding ding' - that doesn't jive......

1. yes
2. ??? at the risk of offending anyone I apologize in advace....
.....The late great "Al Jolson"....mammy, how I love ya how I love ya my dear ol mammy? He was white but costumed himself to be black. Does that qualify for 'mamboo'??

And all these years i've had Bamboo in my signature!!!
That's funny, i spotted that in the CSM too.. i hope it's an erroneous error...
I remember watching a video from '71 when they did the "earthtone colours" i think that's where they got the naming scheme?

Who's job is it to name colors?I couldn't even imagine what that would be like. For qualifications on the employment application what would you write? And you know that after you think up 2or 3 or 10 names for a color someone else decides which name will be used. After which it put to test group,to see how it will accepted by the consumer.

Only lonely people with no friends who spend too much time smelling the flowers and watching frogs jump? I like blue. I like gold. I like black. I like silver. I have simple needs. Employment application? Easy - Color Palette Interpreter and Coordinator

Well it looks like we've exhausted the mamboo theory of relativity... Lets get the second part of the question
Anyone able to shed some light on this, or is it another misprint?
