What bulbs??

1970 Cutlass, what bulbs go in the clock in the gauge assembly??

I bought all LED 194 bulbs to replace my 194, 168, and 161 filament bulbs.
But the far right clock in the gauge assembly takes a special kind of push and
twist bulb like the 1157 bulbs in the parking lights, only a fraction of the size.

The writing on the bulbs isn't legible......so I figured someone here might know.

I think the clock takes the 1445.
It has the small bayonet base and the small spherical glass bulb.
I got some at Otter zone and Napa before.

I like night shots of lit-up old instrument panels....

You can buy that other version bulb on ebay in the LED version. I swapped my clock, speedo and fuel gauge pods all over to LED.

Holy crap!!!!

Your gauges look sooooo much brighter and clearer then mine do.
Mine are in pretty damn good condition but are NOWHERE NEAR as bright as yours are even with the new 194 LED bulbs in them.

I went to your site and looked up some info you had.......

so you just pulled your stock speedo apart and cleaned it, and the Gauge Pack is a repop with a painted
front ring.....I think I will take mine apart to see if my reflector ring needs to be repainted.......

Your's look VERY clear , and mine with the White LED's is almost too blue.....
Maybe I should repaint my reflector rings WHITE instead.......to brighten them up more.

Here is a thread of what I did to my gauges:
https://classicoldsmobile.com/forums...rally-pac.html

Do keep in mind I used regular incandecent bulbs, NOT LEDs. This level of clarity can be had with the right bulbs and the right paint job.

Over time, and many many hours of those dash lights burning, the original paint inside those gauges dulls, turns yellow, fades, gets dirty, etc.
Repainting them makes a world of difference, even without springing for LEDs. If you choose to keep LEDs, then the paint would need to be more white, as most common "white" LEDs have a bluish tint to them. Ultrawhite LEDs are coming out, but they are too expensive to be widely used. It should change soon in a few years.
