what is this?

This is on my 70 350 Cutlass convertible...never seen one .Vacume line hooks to font and back of carb with this in the middle(marked "X"). Thanks

Looks like a TCS though I can't see the electrical connecters.... Transmission Controlled Spark solenoid

I don't have a 70 manual, but the 71 manual has it on page 6C-13.

I agree - looks like a TCS solenoid to me too.

Where have you been storing that engine? In the ocean?

Thanks Don, the electrical connectors are there....

Eric, the whole car was stored in the ocean, my most ambitious and crazy project so far.......
