For some reason, it worked out that our move from Washington to Oregon happened during all the hype of "eclipse week". We were warned of extremely heavy traffic, 3-hour delays, and a host of other things, none of which developed. We moved our first load of belongings from Olympia to Albany on Thursday the 17th, returned to Olympia on the 18th and reloaded for our last trip, and made that last trip down I-5 to Albany on the 19th. Every leg of the trip was uneventful, to say the least. No traffic tie ups, no fuel outages, etc.; I'd say the build-up to the eclipse was mostly social media hype and nothing else!

We did get a total eclipse here this morning and it was pretty neat. It got dark enough that I could see Venus and a few other bright stars, and the darkness turned our outside lights on for about 4 minutes.

Attached are pics of our arrival in Albany on Saturday, and a fuzzy pic taken of my wife and granddaughter at total eclipse. And yes, it did feel a bit cooler for those few minutes the sun was hidden from us!
