Wagon Window
Wagon Window
My '65 Vista owner's manual is MIA. I can raise/lower the tailgate glass from the dash, but with the key in the tailgate keyhole, it can only be raised. Is that normal?
I just put together a 67 wagon. The key in the tailgate switch should do both up and down as far as I know, however mine just stopped working in the up direction with the key switch. I swear I had it working up and down..
Both the dash switch and the tailgate switch will raise and lower the window, so it sounds like you have either a bad switch or a broken wire in the tailgate.
So it wasn't a bad wire or switch, although the connector wasn't quite fully seated. Turned out that all of my keys (3), including the OEM, like to go counterclockwise in the door switch, but need "persuasion" to go clockwise. And I'm not one to force that issue.
Other than a locksmith look-see, any suggestions? A bit of graphite perhaps?
