W27 10 bolt cover

I bought a 10 bolt W27 cover. for my 71 W30 which has a oldsmobile 3:23 rear end. When I went to install the cover BOLT HOLE SEVEN AND FIVE A CLOCK where a 1/8 off and the bolt hole a six a clock was a half of but all the rest lined up any ideas why the bolt three holes don't line up?

Where did you get your cover? Some of the new ones from China are not too good, I am getting to the point if it doesnt say made in the USA it doesnt go on my car, maybe I am getting picky but almost every part on my 442 says made in the USA and I am going to try and keep it that way. Let us know where you purchased the cover. Maybe we can find out what the problem is.

There's also repop's that fit the chevy 12 bolt cover pattern. Could it be that you wound up with one of those? Here's a link that shows three different bolt patterns that the repop covers could come in.

I see that's where you purchased it. What was the part number that you got?

I missed that. I saw the Rallye 350 photo and immediatly thought about the Type O rear end

I have a hard time believing some foundry owner in china thought he should repop these covers. I've had plenty of dealing with Chinese factories. I first blame the US company, located in the US, with US citizens specifying - in many cases poorly specifying and sourcing these parts from a guy who just runs a foundry.

The problem starts with your neighbors and some cases your boss.
