I'm no W-31 expert, but I've never heard of one with factory air. Let alone power brakes with a 4 speed. I thought the cam was too big to support power brakes.

Virus

THERE IS A WIN32 VIRUS @ THIS LINK.

Car is also on car-on-line.com & has been for almost a year.

Dealer is full of it....there are no a/c equiped W-31 cars.

There were ZERO 1970 W31's built with AC. It is either a clone or a rebody with an AC body.

nice looking car, if you could get it for the price of a nice 4-speed Cutlass it would be worth it, without paperwork with the AC I'd doubt its a W31

I agree, I really like this car. I wonder how much they want for it.

It does look like the rims are steel all chrome rims. Those are a 71 only option right?

dealer reply

Here is the dealer's reply to my email.

Dave,

Thanks for the email, unfortunately you are not the first know it all to tell me they didn’t build these cars with a/c, I have all of the paperwork, including the factory build sheet, original sales receipt and several other documents.

If you are interested in purchasing the car please let me know what questions you have.

So…I’M NOT LYING!

Best regards,

Matt Gallagher (Sales Mngr)

wow, I guess without seeing what you sent to him I would call the owner, I can not believe a sales manger would reply like that - how unprofessional.

Here is the complete email with my question & his repsonse.

Just curious. Are you not aware that the 1970 W-31 was not built with a/c?

You are listing a car that you claim has factory a/c. Since GM never built them that way may I ask what documentation you have to prove this car is a factory a/c W-31.

By the way your car is being discussed on several Olds chat sites. Any advertising is good especially when it is free….UNLESS YOU ARE LYING!...I am not saying you are lying but it appears that way.

So….what say you?

Regards

David Nicol

and his repsonse.

So,show this paperwork, with the W31 option AND the C60 AC option on the same sheet. If it is a simple broadcast card, with the W31 option, and nothing else, then it is likely a rebody with a AC car.

I don't know much of anything when it comes to these cars. The description says a quick change rear? What does that mean? Wish any manufacture offered that, even today. Wouldn't it be great to change your ratio in twenty minutes for the driving you are going to do?

All of you on this site are correct about no W-31's with factory air or power brakes. I also got a nasty e-mail from Matt just as Dave Nicol did. I bought a 1970 W-31 new from the factory and I still have it after 44 years, so I know a little about W-31 Oldsmobiles. It has also won a National first place in the OCA show that was in Denver Colorado, plus many other Best of Shows.

Let's see your W-31. Please start a newbie thread with pics and your location.

THIS CAR IS STILL FOR SALE AND HE NEVER PRODUCED ANY PROOF OF A/C.
