VR1 Zinc content

I can get 20W50 VR1 from Walmart. It is SN rated and that should mean 800ish ppm zinc and phosphate. Valvoline claims 1400 and 1300 ppm. I see Mobil claims an SN rating on their 15W50 motor oil with 1200 and 1300 ppm. Am I missing something? My understanding is SN is limited on ZDDP or it can't claim the SN/SN Plus spec.

This is a good read, from what I understand VR1 has .13 to .14 of zinc and phosphorous added. It is SL rated not SN.

Trust me some is SN rated, they have both at Walmart. Supposedly 40 and 50 weight oils can have much higher ZDDP than 30 weight or lower. This stuff has no rating marked on it anywhere. It must be the good stuff. If Walmart had filters better than Fram, they carried Purolator for a while, I would get my oil changes done there. Plus it is only $7.97 a liter, only the cheap brand oil is much cheaper up here.
