Vintage tee shirt

Anybody in readerland know where I could find a Oldsmobile tee shirt with the 69 Oldsmobile car ad on it, the one with the caption that said “what are those funny things under the bumper?” It was a elevated 3/4 view of a 69 Olds with the OAI under-the-bumper scoops. I have one of those cars, and had one of those shirts long ago, and would love another. I would need a shirt in probably a 2x tall. I definitely need a tall t shirt, Britney Spears can pull off the midriff look, I most certainly can’t.🤮

Good luck on finding your shirt. The Brittany Spears part is funny and I know the feeling.

I can get away with wearing plain 2x shirts as long as I intercept them before they make it into the dryer.

If you can find a good pic online, you should be able to print it out. Try to find a local t-shirt store that does the photo transfers to put it on a shirt for you.

I had thought of that, I haven’t been able to find a copy of that ad to use. Like I said, I had one of those shirts probably 20 years ago, I thought maybe they were still out there somewhere for sale

Here is that ad available on ebay. It's for a '68 (maybe you're misremembering the year? It was 20 years ago, after all). If this is what you're looking for, if I were you, I would buy this ad and then take it a to t-shirt shop and have one made in the size you need with this imprinted on it. It's extremely unlikely that you'll find a vintage t-shirt with this on it, let alone one in an unusual size, like 2XL. You might as well ask for the moon as you'd have a better chance of getting that.

I’m almost positive my shirt had a 69 on it, did they run a similar ad the following year in black and white? I know the shirt had a black and white copy of the ad. In any case, I may have to buy that ad, my wife insists on decorating the house with flowers and family pictures. I also live here, shouldn’t the house reflect MY personality as well? I think that would look nice on my mantel, which has several bricks from the Lansing Olds building, and a marble piece of the Olds headquarters, and My Drag Week award.....

The '68 ad pictured above is the only one I've seen w/ that caption. I believe the '69 ads for the W-machines usually had Dr. Oldsmobile in it.
