Did racing stripes com as an option on '66 or '67 cutlass Sierra coupe? Found an original 330 c.i. 4 speed and I don't believe racing stripes were an option, this one has and paint looks original?
Welcome to C.O.
I have no idea what you mean. I've never seen a 66/67 Cutlass Sierra coupe. Did you by chance mean Cutlass Supreme Coupe?
Even the L78 (442 option) didn't come with stripes, although it did have special appearance items.
Body side stripes were only a thin line that ran from the front fender along the ridge line to the end of the coupe door.
The only stripes in those years were pinstripes. The 1965 cars were sometimes seen with a rally stripe, but it was a dealer-installed item, not factory.
Then there was the 68 only, never properly duplicated, vertical fender stripe.
W36 Strpe package. It was never properly duplicated because the 442's with W36 stripes had the numerals located in different positions so the stripe would be centered on the lower fender.
There were no factory racing stripe from the factory as a option. But there was a dealer promotion that had the dealer installing stripes. the promotion started in 65. There are different part#s for the 65 cars and the 66-67 cars.
So it seems there may not have been an RPO but it was sanctioned by Oldsmobile somehow.
I'm not strong on the earlier cars, but I think the stripe was encouraged for those who were active on the drag strip. I may have an order form somewhere but haven't found it.

Sierra which was spelled wrong wasn't the model. As indicated by others it is a Cutlass Supreme. After reading posts seems pretty obvious racing stripes as seen on this vehicle are not stock and were never a single from dealer or factory.

It should also be pretty obvious that the orange paint wasn't factory, either.
Rally stripes were installed before delivery on these specially ordered cars for the Boston zone. Each car has the stripe and decal on the quarter panels. Cant say for sure they left Lansing with the stripe but they sure had them when the rail car arrived in Boston.'
