VIN Number

Does anyone have a way to track a VIN number to find out what you car was from the factory for a 1966 442?

The VIN will only tell you what model, year, and at which plant the car was made, it won't even tell you if it was 442 optioned.
The data plate on the firewall will tell you more, if you post a pic of it we can tell you what it says.

If you are asking, is there a database that matches build sheet (and thus factory installed options) to VIN, the answer is no. That data does not exist for Oldsmobiles, unless the car was either built or originally sold in Canada. GM of Canada does have those records.

The car was built at the Lansing, Michigan plant. Does anyone know how many (if any) got shipped to Canada?

You'll have to get that from GM Canada:

The car can be built in Lansing and sold in Canada. It doesn't have to be made here. As long as it was sold here. Check this out if you want to try them...http://www.gm.ca/gm/english/shopping/parts/vintage

My concern is that the car might not have been sold in Canada. I wish there was a way to find out how many got shipped to Canada from Lansing. Atr least so I know my odds before I give them the $15 to run everything.

As I said, the data plate on the firewall will tell you more, if you post a pic of it we can tell you what it says. And that won't cost you anything

Last I remember the Vintage Vehicle Services report costs more like $50-$65. I would do as Kurt suggests, send a picture or at least post the numbers and letters and someone can give you more info.
