vibration/shimmy

Just looking for opinions on where to start looking for the cause of a vibration or shimmy in my 1972 Cutlass Supreme Convertible, you can feel it at around 40mph, you don't feel it at all when the car is under heavy acceleration. The car has 77,000 miles on it , the original drivetrain, It is not wheel or tire related as I have two sets and it occurs with both, I was just wondering what I should start changing and if anyone has experienced a similar thing. Thanks Marty

Lose parts in the steering, IDLER ARM, tie rod ends, center link, one or all of the above.
Raise car off the ground and grab the tire FRONT AND BACK try moving back and forth and you will feel the lose motion if any, Might need to get a friend to see what is not moveing in time with everything else or up and down motion in the idler arm. Good luck.
