This Is Very Nice Work...

Even if you don't care for rest-o-mods, this '61 looks to be very well done. And the price seems low, to me...

Imagine my surprise NOT to see an LS.

My main criticism is the console - I don't think those slab-sided custom consoles work with the aesthetics of an early 60s dash. Admittedly that's a personal preference issue. And the door panels look a little cheezy. Otherwise, I love it. If I had to guess, I'd say the asking price is significantly less than what it cost to build.

The reflection of the black and white squares from the floor make it look like it was painted with a felt tip marker. Obviously an optical illusion. Nice ride but like Joe, I have to pick on the interior. Those speaker pods look like warts growing out of the kick panels. I like it otherwise.

Nice to see the stereo remote control is slightly closer than the actual stereo (or is that a TV?). I hate when I have to reach all the way to the dash to change the channel.

Kenneth - No reaching to change the TV channel - the remote is laying on the center console. I love the car, I don't like the wheels - at all.

EDIT: Weird, I must have hit Reply too soon. It should have read No reaching to change the TV channel for those in the backseat. Hmmm.....

Speaking of TV and the dash. I was talking to a friend who is a mechanic, he told me he serviced an Alpha Romeo a couple weeks ago. I asked him which model/year and he didn't recall. But, what he told me was the nucking futs. He said the dashboard was entirely glass all the way from the driver side to the passenger side. He went on to say the dashboard was touch-screen, as well. You could pull up the Maps feature, and the entire dashboard became a map which you could manipulate with your fingers. I need to do some research on some Alpha Romeos to see if there's any truth to his story.

This could probably belong on the "Sleeper" thread, too. I bet that is pretty quick with that 455.

While I like the design of the wheel (kinda look like the old school Torque Thrust rims) I don’t care for the size. I don’t even care for the rubber band on a thimble look on modern new cars.

I also have to pick on the console, the squared off corner look is out of place in a classic, along with the TV touch screen stereo.

othef than that, appears to be well done. I’m pleasantly surprised a LS hasn’t been swapped in. The exterior mods are minimal, which with old iron is a good thing.

^^^That's it. I couldn't quite decide exactly why I didn't like the wheels. But, you're spot on - it's their size w/ the rubber band treads. Blah.

Bad A$$ car, nicely done. Console is not my style, but overall car looks great.

As far as the wheels, they are like shoes, I have many to pick from and they are easily changed. In this case they compliment the car well.
If anything I would like it an inch or so lower.

Nice car! not my thing but at least they kept it Olds powered with a later model 455. I agree the console looks out of place with the factory dash.

Mopar bud and I rode to Streetside's Charlotte showroom to look at a Ford GT40 he was interested in. Even though we had a confirmed appointment to view the car they charged us $10 each admission/viewing fee.

I already had a bad taste over Streetside from several years back when they had "THE ONE" 1969 Thunderbird hardtop in their Atlanta showroom and wanted $2500 to transport it 3 hours to Charlotte so I could view it. I didn't have time to make the Atlanta trip but could swing half a day to Charlotte. Had the car been as good as it looked, they'd have made a sale.

Far as I'm concerned they're a glorified corner car lot. All they need is loud plaid sport coats.

I bought my '76 at Street Side / Fort Worth. No issues. Straight & easy process. Helped negotiate the purchase price down as I was a cash buyer...ready to move.

I had a miserable time selling my Trans Am bymyowndamnedself. I wound up trading it for a '72 El Camino. Which I later sold thru Classic Car Liquidators. Sold in three weeks. Got more for it than it I would have sold it for...with no headaches. I used them because they are on the way to the lake house. Whereas, Street Side is a not so easy drive to the West Side of Fort Worth from the far east side of Dallas County.

I would recommend either one for anyone around the DFW area. SS is more big city. CCL is more country. Of course, this was pre-covid. But, hell, everything was pre-covid....
