On vacation

Hey, all.

Just wanted to let you know that I've not forgotten you. I've been on vacation in the south of France and just got internet access today. Just dropping you a line to say hi and I'll be back next week. Take care.

The south of France.
Oh brother....
I'm going to start telling people I live in the North of Ohio.

That pic gives a whole new meaning to the term "Over the shoulder boulder holder".

Does the "south" of France have rougenecks with the aforementioned Citroens painted like The Le General Lee driving around eating zee Kentucky fried frog legs??
They tried to do a French version of the Dukes of Hazzard but every time the Sheriff chased down the Dukes the second they saw him in they would immediately stop and surrender.

Better take a car hauler and a 18 wheeler, for those of you who have been here awhile tracking some of Joe's purchases that may not even be enough equipment

Hey I bet the Silhouette could use the Jetfire turbo setup he has been hiding from us. I am assuming you have the 3400 in that. The 3400 in my '03 Grand Am GT is treating me nicely at just under 100K.

The vans are a pain, not so bad in the G Am. I just did mine about 10K ago. My other G Am, a 2002 lasted until amost 170K before externally leaking coolant. That is almost unheard of. A lot of people bash the 3400 but I put over 170K, I bought it with 34K, on my first one before a undercoating fire took it away from me and my "new car" is now at 100K and I did it at 90K, I bought it at 86K knowing it was starting to seep. Not to bad.

I got one in Amsterdam, actually.

Right now we're stuck in Lyon, waiting for our flight back to Amsterdam. For those not following the international news, Europe was hit by abnormally cold weather all week (yeah, just my luck). Amsterdam is snowed in, so we're at least four hours late and will likely miss our connection back to DC. It's an adventure.

Oh, and be aware that we have live-in help on the farm watching the house. I just hope my wife didn't pay him to LET people carry off car parts...

(1.5`Celcius) and snow and ice are melting.
Tonight it gone freeze again

Yeah, here's our rental car in Pont St. Esprit (about 30 min from Avignon and about 10 miles from our house).

First time they've had snow in the area for 50 years. No plows, no sand or salt on the roads, and no drivers experienced in driving in snow.

You can guess how much fun that drive home was in the dark.

Just to make you all jealous, our house is the one with the grey shutters, to the upper right of center in this photo.

Our flight to Amsterdam was delayed 4 hours by the weather so we missed our connection. Had to spend the night at the airport hotel, then got sent back to Paris early Sunday for a flight back to Washington. It's good to be home.

My Dad used to tell that joke, only in his version, the punchline was "people who live in grass houses shouldn't stow thrones"). Here's the approximate text to how Dad used to tell it:

http://www.badpuns.com/jokes.php?sec...gy&name=throne

He also told the "yellow statue / hello, is that you" joke as well. Ah, the old classics...

I'd love to see a BBO powered Citroen, by the way!

Truth be told I am glad you came to get the parts/manual. I see the "name" everywhere's on here and 442.com. It is just really nice to put a face to name. The 442 hat was the first thing I noticed when I opened the door. I don't think I could have confused you with anyone else. Of course I can alway happily say I met, spoke with, and shook THE Joe Padavano's hand.

Thanks for everything you do for us
