Vac gauge ID needed

I picked up an old Oldsmobile vac gauge. but don't know what model or models it fits.
Also it looks to have some tiny blisters (bubbles) coming up under the brushed finish. Is it a coating or just brushed finish mild steel?

Any help would be appreciated.

1966-7 Cutlii for sure, might be 64 & 65 as well, gauge face seems like it was a little different on the earlier models, IICRAC

Far be it for me to give false witness, Lemoldsnut or 76442nut or Oldsmobility to name a few are head & shoulders above me, but I have seen several examples in the A bodies...."While the usual 4-speed manual trans was used in the majority of Oldsmobile 442s, this one is equipped with the 3-speed automatic Jetaway transmission. The console-mounted vacuum gauge was part of the extra-cost sports console option on the 442; based on intake manifold vacuum, it indicated either economy or performance...." quote from another site.

This type of gage was phased out after 1967 IIRC. The next time I saw it in a GM car was 1975. They were options in the B and C Body Olds, and other GM brands that tried to promote fuel efficient use of the zoom zoom pedal..I'm not sure whether this was an effective option or just something to look at once in a while.

64-65 Olds A body used a console mounted tach. In 66 Olds A bodies the vacuum gauge was on the console and no console gauge of any style in 67's.

Wow, this is so wrong on so many levels...

The majority of 442s came with four speed manual transmissions? Maybe in the 1964 model year (as in all of them), but certainly not after that. and the "3-speed automatic Jetaway" would be a one-of-none, as all the ST300 Jetaways were two speed.

Thanks for clarifying Joe, as I had stated it was a cut/paste from another site where they happened to have a readily available pic of the Vac gauge in an A body, and [my bad] thought I would add their own verbiage for accent...check out the site for yourself(ves) they espouse a pedigree of knowledge and are also from VA.

Here's an example in my sig.
66 442 W/ 2 speed auto.
Now a 350 turbo.

On the highway, feathering the throttle,
you can see your optimal milage, sort of.

Punch it, and it goes over in the red.
I beleive the body is a brushed stainless steel.

It fits nicely in my 68 with the 4 speed console although as previously stated it's not correct for 68. It's kind of cool to see the vacuum dump toward zero when you floor it. It's also handy to have for tuning although you need someone in the car to actually read the gauge. BTW the top plate with the gauges shown below has been replaced with a stock one and a Rallye Pac in my car.

I know the is an old thread but currently redoing my interior and performance gauge is not hooked up. Using the pictures for a referance. So I am assuming the gray wire which goes to the bulb is for power so the blue wire is a ground. The ground can be wired to the front console bracket which is attached to the floor pan. Should work? Am i correct?
Thanks
Wayne

The wires are black and gray, and yes, black is ground and grey is hooked to your dashboard lights

Thanks very much mike for the reply. That will help. Side note: Lived in Rochester from 72 to 82. Had several accounts in Seneca Falls. Always liked the Finger Lakes area.

It's very nice here, the taxes aren't.....

My wife is from the area so that's how I ended up here

What accounts did you have in Seneca Falls? (they're probably long gone now as most industry has fled the state)

Can't remember but the largest one made medical equipment. That was so long ago early in my career.
