Typical speeds?

I did a phone video of a 0 to 108 mph run to see what times were and would like to know if these times are typical for the following setup:
  • 71 cutlass supreme
  • 455 with E heads and 0.30 over stock shallow dish pistons
  • Stock 73 800cfm Quadrajet
  • Stock smog delete 73 intake
  • Mild cam?
  • Headers with 2.5 inch exhaust
  • 323 posi
I know the speedometer is accurate at 60 using GPS.
I spun the tires a little so 0 to 30 can't really say.
0 to 40 in 4 sec
0 to 50 in just under 6 sec
0 to 60 in 7 sec
0 to 80 in 11 sec
0 to 90 in just over 14 sec
0 to 100 in just over 16 sec
0 to 108 in 17 sec

I think those #’s represent a fairly large majority of the near stock muscle cars out there.
It probably represents a 14.5 ET if I were to guess? It’s not bad for a street car of the day and still feels great to accelerate like that in such a big car.

I can only do a couple speeds as I’m getting them from my time slips.
Some are from Wallace Racing calculators given know times so they could be a bit off.
ie. http://www.wallaceracing.com/0-60_equation.php

-peter

0-45 in 1.50 seconds
0-60 in 2.46 seconds
0-100 in 6.82 seconds
0-124 in 10.75 seconds

3900lb Rallye 350 with a 496ci engine, TH400, 3.90 gears

Are these in the ballpark? Yeah, probably. There are so many variables that it is impossible to say if your car is completely typical or not. Did you power brake the car or just floor the throttle at "go"? Was there any wheelspin? What were the atmospheric conditions? How accurate is your timing?

definitely ballpark times since the phone only shows whole seconds. I hit the gas upon hearing the phone's chime indicating recoding has started and the tach shows the start of the video was at just about the same as the tires starting to break loose. No power break and I was trying not to spin, but a little spin up to about 30 mph. I didn't quite floor it as I have found just under WOT has better acceleration. It was about 50 degrees and sunny. It has TH400 and I let the transmission shift on it's own-not enough hands to shift, steer and hold the phone. Wonder if using the floor shift to rev higher would get better results.

Obviously Peter's car isn't stock.

Your 0-60 is very similar to the times I recorded in my 1970 Supreme 350-4bbl, dual exhaust, 3.23 rear, but with almost no wheelspin off the line.

Go to your nearest Dragstrip on test and tune night, spend 20 bucks to enter, run the car, collect your timeslip. No guesstimating, you know what the car runs.

Just a warning, the Dragstrip is addictive. That 20 dollar entry fee willbeoneof the smallest purchases!

FACTS
(it's $40 here)
I'm trying to squeeze one last session in, if I can get gears back in the transmission. 7.48 1/8th, 12.0 1/4 @ 117

I'm in the Tacoma area. One strip is 1/8th mile. Not sure about the other.

Tacoma is not that far from Kent where Pacific Raceways quarter mile track is located; also Bremerton claims to have a quarter mile track, I think that one is out by the Bremerton airport.
