Trunk Lid Custom Painted

Was wondering how common it was back in the day to have these? It it something that appeals to most of you or is it something you would have removed? I've tossed it around some, but really it seems like it was a part of my father in law's history. It would be tough for me to remove, but even in our cars today, I prefer everything stock. There is a definite coolness factor though.

If you don't know what to do, get another trunk lid, paint it, and use it, and hang the wall art in the garage. Those aren't bad, I was sort of hoping for some airbrushed topless chick though.

That's a good idea. Very good. Would have preferred the name "The Red Ghost", but it seems like he recognized the significance of the "W" very early on.

What is the Blue Ghost holding anyway, a shifter and a steering wheel? I can't tell.

BTW, here is what it looked like a few weeks ago. It held up pretty well over the years.

If it has sentimental value find a good trunk lid and use this as a wall hanger.

What would be a fair price for another trunk lid? Also, if this car turns out to be a numbers matching W30, what should be done to the trunk lid in that case? Repaint the original? Or replace with a matching trunk lid? Or does this even matter?
