trip

I'm planning on going to Ocean City for cruisin week in a month. It's around 250 mile one way. I want to take a few tools but want to keep the weight down so what tools/repair items should I take or remove from the list ? I'd like to make a list this time instead of just throwing some in a box at the last minute.

Needle nose pliers
Vice grip pliers
Water pump pliers
Straight screw driver
Philips screw driver
Duct tape
Electric tape
Wire ties
Bungee cord
1/2 through 3/4 wrenches
Jumper cables
Rags- hand cleaner
Flash light
Blanket "to roll around on"
I aways carry extra fluids
Small jack, chalks and block

Don't forget a flashlight! Actually a head lamp is better. Leaves you hands free. Also a mirror and magnet.

How about some spare parts like fan belts as mentioned, a water pump, maybe a ignition coil.... if condition is unknown.

Don't forget the BFH! Also, toss in a test light, spare fuses, a couple of hose clamps, and I throw a small floor jack.
Wax her up real good, so you can hose the salt and sand off in the morning.

I'll be on 71st; see you there!

How do you live that close and not go?
Time wise bay bridge "Chesapeake Bay that is" is about 1/2 way point for us . We may stop hemmingways.

All good suggestions.
I've got an HEI so no coil but I do have a coil pack which I just changed I may still have the old one.
Fan belts were changed recently to and the way my set up is both belts run the water pump and fan.plus I have an electric fan so I think the belt is not necessary. Maybe the pump though . I'll check on the availability of the belts.

Have my own business, it is a plant nursery and I am very busy in the spring. Come down a little farther to Easton I could meet you for Lunch or Dinner depending on the time.

I got a little 1 1/2-2 ton from Advanced or Auto zone for about $20. Doesn't take up much room, and better than a factory spare jack. Watch, I'll forget it this year, and need it.
I break stuff almost every year I have the 442. So many times that the wife won't go anymore.
I consider it part of the adventure. You haven't lived until you're sweating out an overnight delivery to the hotel from Year One only to have it not quite fit and go searching for someone to drill through cromoly because you've wasted 5 drill bits trying to do it in the parking lot while it's raining. You ready?

No but I will be.I put a limited slip differential and a little lower gears I'm hoping it's right. I'm just going to watch.

Made it home at 11:15AM left at 6:45 AM 1 fuel stop . It rained the hole way. New differential with 342 gears worked great. Little less than 2000 RPM to do 70. I'm thinking around 12.5 mpg but won't know for sure until I fill up.
Had little problem on the way down. I had the return line on the fuel pump blocked off and it started leaking, bad . I took my glass fuel filter off and replaced it with a 3/8 line a couple daysearlier . So I thought for sure that was it. When I replaced it with a 5/16 line. I quickly found out that was not it. I used the old bolt clamped in line trick , in the auto zone parking lot and an hour later I was on my way. I did not have a piece of hose or a bolt but I did have the clamps and all the tools I needed.
