Unhappy Traffic stop gone wrong...

Classic car owners certainly don't expect this level of incompetence from LEO but the police video tells the story. Think I'll put some thought in what other documents to carry when out cruising!

Wow. Not only did one person F up but two. I understand humans make mistakes but a second look should have been made when things didn't line up TWICE. Poor couple.

How dumb do you think those officers felt when they realized they messed up haha. I but they didn't even fess up to the fact they made a mistake and just told the man that he was being released.

It is sad for the couple that had to be put through this while just out for a cruise together,
However cops never know who they are dealing with in our world today. They all take precautions no mater how the individuals look or seem when pulling suspected people over.
I think this is all a heads up for old car guys to have all documents in order.
Sad but this is becoming reality with the new cops in this world. Many cops are now trained to shoot first if they feel threatened ask questions later. It's happened several times up here in Canada.

One of my best friends is a cop. It angers me the "us" vs "civilians" attitude that he and his colleagues have.

They have no right to treat us like potential criminals. They work for us. They are not a separate, privileged class.
If they can't keep that in mind, they should quit.

Besides, police work is not near the top of the most dangerous professions list. Should we let fishermen and linemen trump our rights because the risk their lives for us?

That said, I believe most policemen are good people. The bad ones need to be rooted out mercilessly. That's the price of giving them power. It needs to be exercised responsibly, without exemptions.

Anyone who actually cares about this, which should be all of us, needs to be writing his state rep to push for zero tolerance laws against police who abuse their position. Be sure to include wording about it being tough to retain cops if such were to be enacted being a good thing, as we have way too many to begin with.

We need firefighters, because they have awesome equipment that gets used for good. The cops can't get to you in time to help you when you need it, so they're useless in most situations. Lock your stuff with good locks, and carry heat, and you're your own security.
