Trading My DD For Another Cutlass

I am in need of your opinions. I have a 91 Honda Accord that I been working on since 08. It’s been my daily driver since and I love it. There is a 93 Cutlass on C/L that the owner is willing to trade. I am really interested in closing the deal if the Cutlass is running good. It would be pretty cool to own 2 Cutlass from different eras. I put a lot of blood sweat and tears into this vehicle In fact, here is my members page below:

Here is the car in question:

My question is this, IMO, my Accord is worth more than $1700 but the fact of owning 2 Oldsmobiles from 2 different time periods is pretty cool to me. What is your opinion on this??? I will meet with the seller this afternoon.

The 94 Cutlass Supreme I owned was the 3.4L motor and I had to replace the timing belt every 50,000 miles. It was a pain. Also the alternator was at the bottom of the engine near the firewall. It overheated and had to be replaced. The axle had to come out to get to it. Another pain. An aftermarket stereo system would put more stress on the alternator. This car might be the 3.1L motor though. I had a 72 Cutlass supreme at the time and I thought it was cool.

Like 455man said... I had a 92 Z34 with the 3.4 and the alternator, and timing belt were ongoing issues. I would not buy it if that was the motor that was in it IMO.

American companies did not make good cars in the '90s.

I'll echo OldCutlass's sentiment - Keep the Honda, they're good, reliable (extremely boring) cars.

If you want to trade the Honda for an Olds, trade it for an older one, like from the '60s or early '70s, so you have a solid, reliable car.

Yes that is correct. Pretty much the first thing that he mentioned. To top it off, the equipment that he has is very low quality and installation looks crappy.

Im going to stand down on this deal. I just drove the Honda a few minutes ago and Im still attached to the vehicle. This was my first major automotive project and its still running strong!
