Nice turn of luck, Justin. I've known guys who stole THEIR OWN stuff, if you can believe it, flog the stuff to a pawn shop, and then end up in court because the coppers find the stuff in the pawn shop. Next, the insurance company is after them for claiming the stuff stolen in the first place. I tell you, it's a mad, mad, mad world out there.
By the way, those ARE beautiful wheels. You are for certain going to go stock rims and garbage tires, right !!

 

I. was waiting to find a few 14 not common tire any more it took me almost three months for a junk set to come in because I didn't want to spend money on 14s as she sits now

I know the feeling. I've about given up looking for old 14 inch. Lucky to find 215/75/14 now. Forget anything larger. Was happy to get my 15 inch set from Napoleon. I'm running old tires now whilst I spend forever fixing up my car.
I see what you mean about your back wheel wells. Will keep you in mind if I bring my old quarters home from the island some day.

Checked out your build thread a bit. Did page three. That's a big chunk of work you tied into there !! Gonna be one of the most knowledgeable 65 Cutlass guys in the country. I'll read the first two pages when I get more time.

Got a call today the district attorney is charging only two people the others weren't directly involved so the two are being charged with felony theft , trespassing , selling stolen goods by deception . Both have prior theft charges so hopefully the higher charges will stick

 

I can sort of understand why they stole the wheels, they're beautiful. I CAN'T understand why they sold them for $100. Selling them so cheap, in itself, should be a crime.

Find a friend of a friend (or in-law) who's in jail.

Go to Costco and buy a lot of cigarettes.

Make a donation, and have them taken care of.

The criminal justice system is too unreliable.

Honestly sometimes this is how I feel but at the same time I believe in karma , I wasn't always on the straight and narrow when this first happened I was like wow how much do I need to pay for my mistakes .I have had several things happen over the last five years that would just about push some one over the edge, I was very glad to get them back and see them charged , now if they take a lesser charge and improve there life's and the people around them then it was well worth it and if they choose to even try and take something again that will be a third strike witch is a garnteed felony.

 

Glad to hear they were caught andd you got the wheels back. You do have some karma on your side.

 

So got some paper work today not sure how I feel about it. I guess I am sub-post to give them a price on damages I am out a few hrs at work the frame repair it took ten min but still the time to put stocks on deal with the tire shop and officer. so I am just going to let it go how of you put a price on this

 

I would figure your time at least $20 to $25 an hour. Call it $100. I would put something down. My .02

I would put down what a shop would have charged. You should not have had to do it yourself....

 

Put down enough to make it grand theft. Homies need to fry.

 

So I got with my boss today ,he suggested 2hrs for installing wheels and for my time with the frame @ 50 bucks so I attached a shop quote at 150.00 and wrote a letter stating "I think they should be responsible for the 50 bucks all court fees should NOT be waived and at least 20hrs of community service " what you guys think I think my labor rate is better then the shop ?
