For the first time ever the Texas Rangers are going to the World Series. Very exciting for us Texans.

In 1997, the Rangers played the Giants for the first time in inter-league regular season play (my wife and I attended the first game of that home stand). Ironically, the first time the Rangers are in the WS, they're playing the Giants.
My wife and I work at the Double-A affiliate of the Rangers - Frisco RoughRiders. It's fun to watch a significant amount of current Rangers that played in Frisco (Moreland, Andrus, Feliz, Kinsler, . . .).

Well it wasn't a well pitched game by any means, but the Giants came out on top. 3 to go.

Talking A neat commentary from our local paper

Dissecting Dallas-Fort Worth, San Francisco differences as Rangers-Giants World Series begins

08:31 AM CDT on Thursday, October 28, 2010

By DAVID FLICK / The Dallas Morning News
dflick@dallasnews.com

So, fine, San Franciscans have a view of the bay and the Golden Gate Bridge and graceful sailboats set against Mount Tamalpais, and we have the waterfall billboard along Stemmons Freeway. It doesn't make us bad people.
It's hard to think of two major league cities that are such physical, cultural and political opposites. Boston and New York? Supposedly, the accents are different. Cleveland and Detroit? (Hint: Cleveland is the one south of Lake Erie). St. Louis and Milwaukee? Cincinnati and Pittsburgh? You could switch them around in the middle of the night, and the inhabitants wouldn't know the difference.
But no one could ever confuse Big D with the City by the Bay. The Dallas Morning News deals in facts, so we're prepared to prove it. We present the following evidence:

Hey! We resemble that remark! What - you think us St. Louisans just drink beer and eat brats all the time?

SF won the first two in Convincing fashon....of course they are expected to win the home games. if they hadn't won both, they be said to be in trouble. Now Texas needs to answer by winning their home games (all of em).

I don't care who wins as long as it isn't the the Yankees, Steelers or Michigan.
Cleveland is where all the steel mills shut down and Detroit is where all the car plants shut down.
It's on lake Erie, south of Lake Erie is where people are, nobody lives in Cleveland.
If you wake up and the city isn't full of pick up trucks with gun racks and the people have teeth you know you aren't in Pittsburgh.

Since San Francisco is in the world series against Texas will the Village People get rid of the cowboy and replace him with a Giants baseball player for the duration?

It appears home field does make a difference. I am not going to talk a lot of smack with anybody. The Rangers have won a game in the World Series. I am very proud of them.

GO RANGERS

X10!!!!!!!!!!!

This probably relates to the "cannot sleep anywhere but their own bed" issue some people have...
Or maybe the bay was just too humid or cold or maybe it was the at t presence.......

Move to Cleveland if you think that's bad, at least you had the Cowboys.
We do stuff like that loss standing on our heads all day.

Is that an Oldsmobile the gleeful Giant's fans are trashing then trying to kill the occupants?

Rat ba$tards if it is an Olds, if not...who cares??
