i thought this was for manual trans applications only.........until i saw ref about it for auto trans too in the service manual. i found the solonoid and bracket in one of my boxes and a note that it mounts to the pass side frnt carb bolt. but i also saw in the manual that there is a tcs relay on the firewall. i do not remember taking this off the firewall on teardown. whats the deal with this relay?????

I'm guessing 70 442. That's what Charlie's been posting question about for awhile now.

'70 style TCS "switch" bracket mounts on a studded-end intake bolt...not on the carb anywhere. The stud/bolt is the forward most of the two middle intake bolts on the P side of the intake.

TCS switch mounts onto the bracket with a 1/4" coarse thread bolt.

All the other intake bolts on that car are the regular head style bolts.

thats excactly{sp} what i was looking for!!! not sure why i wrote it was on the carb for. do you happen to know wht the tcs relay on the firewall is for? thanks very much!

I am not sure if there is any relay associated with the TCS. There is a connector which is part of the engine harness which connects to the ignition and the transmission (AT)/shifter(MT) switch. If this is a 1970 application see page 6C19 of the Service Manual.

There is no relay on the firewall for the TCS switch, it does have a wire that goes to it on the engine harness but that comes from behind the carb I believe.

Its not easy to find that stud either, if you are lucky its still the one on your manifold, not sure if anyone repos it, maybe Inlinetube
