TR 940 R-2 PAINT
FROM WHAT I HAVE RESEARCHED, THERE WERE ONLY 1900 CARS BUILT IN 68 & ONLY 493 WERE POST (CLUB COUPE)
THE PICTURES SHOWN ARE OF THE CAR WHEN WE TOOK IT OUT OF THE GARAGE
IT WAS LAST TAGGED & PARKED IN 1976-
THIS CAR IS NUMBERS MATCHING & HAS THE MATCHING 'PROTECT-PLATE'
I HAVE ALREADY PURCHASED (brand new, still in the boxes)EVERYTHING THIS CAR NEEDS TO BE COMPLETED CORRECTLY & ALL BODY & INTERIOR WORK IS COMPLETED- WHEN DONE- THIS WILL BE A 40K-50K CAR
THE ONLY REASON I AM SELLING OR TRADING, IS BECAUSE I JUST RECIEVED 3 NEW PROJECTS. THIS IS YOUR OPPORTUNITY TO FINALLY OWN A TRUE GEM
I WILL TRADE FOR VEHICLES WORTH 18K-20K OR SALE FOR 15K

Well a least it is a four speed with a Hurst shifter And the W36 stripe looks to be in the right spot.

Bodywork does not appear to be "done"

And the black vinyl top is long gone. Looks resprayed and I bet a magnet wouldn't stick on some of the lower 1/4's. I'd say this guy is about $10k too high.

I beg to differ. The fact that the car actually has correct W-36 stripes more than justifies the price premium...

Seriously, ad copy and price aside, this is an interesting car. 1968 442 4spd (with the "rare" Sport coupe body...). Power disc brakes (four piston calipers if original). Is that manual steering? It really does have all the parts there. I've seen (and started with) worse.

Yes it does appear to be a solid project. More misinformation though... There were 1,969 post coupe 442s built in '68 with the 4 speed, not "FROM WHAT I HAVE RESEARCHED, THERE WERE ONLY 1900 CARS BUILT IN 68 & ONLY 493 WERE POST (CLUB COUPE)" Total 442 production numbers which I assume is what he is trying to say was 36,587.

All original, body looks straight, 4 spd, tic toc, not bad. He says interior completely done but no pics. Dosent say if it runs or not. Still looks like a good builder.

I have seen other pics of this car and its is all apart and in primer currently. These are all the before he started pics. If and a big IF the bodywork is done correcty it might not be too bad of a deal but personally I would rather have it in the before pics you are seeing here.

It's actually the exact car I want for my next project only I don't have any money right now and, as it appears in these pics, it's only worth about $5k plus the parts he has. I seriously doubt he has anywhere near "EVERYTHING THIS CAR NEEDS TO BE COMPLETED CORRECTLY".

It's kind of weird with everything on it looking so original, the dash stripe isn't there.

Not so sure. I sold mine early this year and it was rougher than that car for almost 11K in 3 days and still had lots of calls after sold. I had 100 plus pics so anyone knew exactly what is was before they would call.

Richard

Your car was mechanically restored and was a solid driver needing a restoration. This car, as presented, is far from that. I also think he's not showing a lot of the typically bad areas like the trunk and floors because they're shot.
