Talking SX Wheel Change

i just swapped out my SSIII's for SSI's. It is amazing how much better the car looks! The car originally came with SSII's but they were gone before i got the car. It had the Buick wheel which looks simular but i sold those and got the SSIII's. I just purchased SSI's from this site and mounted old Eagle ST's. Right im having fun burning them up. I have the SSIII's for sale in parts section.

Big fan of both wheel styles, but those SS1s on your SX REALLY set it off! Good choice on making the change...did the same on mine and it feels great knowing you enhanced the look of the car while keeping a factory style.

It looks good, but personally I like the SSII's better. The SSI's just look like Buick wheels to me

And maybe the Pontiacs too, heck even ford had a version.

I Like 'em. Looks good. I think they left a mark on the the muscle car era.

Did they ever make a 15'' version? I"m thinking not.

Really interesting change to the appearance of the car. Anyone else but me notice this 'optical' illusion? Look at the pics of the SS II's and then look at the same profile shot with the SS I. IMO the SS I makes the car look lower and longer. The SS II's make it look a little 'squat' but tougher.

Me too. Seems like some cars just look better with a different wheel. I can just tell by looking at your sig pic that the SS I's were a no brainer for your choice...

I prefer the SSIII's on my car. Who knows, maybe that will change one day too.

Ideally get a set of SS1s and SS2s and interchange a your leisure. Black wheels are very much back in style these days and the SS1s just give the car a meaner more modern look in my opinion

I think the chrome SSIII's were introduced with the 83 HO. Don't ever remember seeing SS I's from the factory with chrome reveals though. So I looked at the WV's and the ones on m455sx's car. You got me wondering what it would look like with those chrome SS I's. Anyone here know how to photoshop that? I think it will give a significantly different look than having trim rings.

too.
Yes,no brainer, the SSI's are my all time favorite factory wheel. So much so that I bought my all time favorite aftermarket wheels a couple years ago and they still haven't been mounted on my car.Still sitting in the boxes.
Maybe for next cruising season,I'll switch to the aftermarket wheels.

Your car looks very nice m455sx. My preference is for the SSIIs, they are just about my favorite wheel ever, but the SSIs look nice too. Mopars also came with a wheel very similar to these.

Not so sure about that. According to some of the others on the site who are more informed than me on the SSI and P05 style wheel, they are not all the same. IIRC there's a difference in the contour or ridges going to the center, and the cutouts may be different sizes / shapes too.
