Starting Winter Maintenance
I wanted to check out the Trans kickdown switch on my 67 VC. The throttle linkage pivot was seized. Carefully disaasemmbled, cleaned & lubed the pivot points. Cleaned the internal parts, contacts, springs, etc. Lubed the shaft and contact points/ underside of cap with a light coat of Dielectric grease. While everything needed a good cleaning, the contact points / internal parts were not too badly worn. Upon reassembly , I lightly restaked the metal edge to hold the cap down. Then I ran a small bead of black silicone around the edge, just to help seal it better. Thankfully this did not turn out to be a major rebuild, more of an inspection /maintenance thing. Hopefully I get a few more years of use without any problems.
