Stan's 442

Stan's 442
The other day I was digging thru my file box and found some documents from when my gold 1971 442 was ordered and then delivered. I found the papers filled out by the original purchaser Stan from snowflake arizona.
I looked him up on the internet and found he still lives in the same house and also got his phone number. So I gave him a call.
What a neat experience to hear his story. He was in phoenix to order a new road runner. He saw a car like this one and chased the guy down to find out what it was. He then went to the local dealership and ordered the 442
Him and his wife go to lots of car shows down in arizona. He told me they kept hoping the car would be at one of the shows but it never was. He was surprised that it was in minnesota. He told me I made his day by calling him RE "His Car". Later in our phone conversation he said "you did not just make my day. You made my year"
I sent him a few pictures of the Olds I took in 2000
The car is still like when he sold it in 1990 except the cragars and trailer hitch he put on it the first day home had been removed. He used to pull his 16foot boat with the 442!
Well Stan made my day today. I found in the mail an envelope full of pictures of the 442 as well as of him and his grand daughter giving the Olds a bath

I am glad I took the time to look up the original owner of the 442. We had another good phone conversation over the weekend. I have the third batch of pictures and a copy of the build sheet ready to get sent off to Stan. He really seems to enjoy hearing about his 442

Stan told me I could park it out in front of his house any time as they are having a bad drought there.
He told me the spare and air cleaner top are original to the car. He drilled a hole in the OAI top to spray starting fluid into the carb on the cold snowy mornings when the w30 cammed 455 did not want to wake up
