original tire diameter.

I believe the original tire was 26.6" tall. Closest today is a 225 70 14 which is 26.4" tall.

The standard (and only) tire size offered on the 1970 442 was G70-14. That tire had a nominal 26.82" diameter and an 8.75" section width. The closest readily available tire today is the 225/70-14, which is 26.40" diameter and 8.86" section width. Of course, you can also buy repros of the G70-14s that are exactly the same size, and now you can also get "bias look" radial tires in that size. The latter two are about three times the price of the BFG 225/70-14s.

I stand corrected. 26.8" tall not 26.6" tall. Silly me.
