SS1 wheels 14"

I had the original wheels re-chromed, have new lug nuts, centers all polished,,,,,,.... Now, what size tires(14") do you guys recommend? I'm leaning towards red lined tires. Also anyone know where I can purchase the cut outs to mask the wheels to paint the black center?

Nice! Pics please........how did the rechrome go for you? What did you do with the centers of the wheels? The centers were "satin" finished (not shiny) except for very early ones.
Stock size for '66 was 7.75 redline nylon cord tires. They are reproduced, but unless it is going to be a virtually undriven show car, I wouldn't go there. Also available repopped are F70-14 redline belted wide ovals, also period correct starting in 1967.
But I no doubt would recommend radial redlines for lots of reasons. Minimum "stock" size of 215-70(or 75) or larger if you'd like.

Where did you have the work done? Can you provide details and pics please?

I have been talking with Stockton Wheel in Calif., about doing my SS1 wheels, but have read some negative things about them.

I am also trying to decide the tire style I am going to use.

Thanks
tim

I used a company out of Fresno California called Western Chrome. I had them do all 5 wheels and the bumpers. The bumpers were sent back twice because they had to grind out some pits and fill them.I don't know if I would recommend them. I had to stay on top of them . The wheels came out good , the center area around the lugs, which is painted is satin. Personally I would go to a chrome plater who is close to home so if there is a problem you can speak to them face to face.
