Sprayway glass cleaner gone to the dogs?

I've been using Sprayway glass cleaner for 50 years and it's always been my go-to glass cleaner. I don't know if they changed their formula, but it's not worth a damn any more. It seems like all it does is smear. I did the outside of the rear window on my Cutlass tonight 5 times, and it was still filmy and smeary. I tried using waterless car wash spray and it cleared right up. Anyone else having a poor experience with Sprayway lately? What is your go-to window cleaner (tint safe)?

I used to use Sprayway at the car lot and found it hit or miss between batches. I've been using Invisible Glass now for a few years with better success.

I like the Stoners Invisible Glass Cleaner too. After I apply the cleaner I wipe it off with a microfiber towel that is made for glass,. then I go over it with a second dry microfiber. No streaks.

I have tried both Invisible Gllass and Sprayway. The results are on and off with the streaking. Last week after all kinds of frustration with the streaking I tried a microfiber on the streaks and the windows looked great, streaks gone. I guess that will be the drill from now on.

I haven't done it in a long time but an old car show trick is using newspaper to clean windows. Don't use any colored pages though.

I’ve been using a microfiber waffle towel made for glass. When I used the waterless car wash, I used a regular microfiber towel. Maybe it’s time for a new glass towel.

I had a window manufacturing business for 10 years. Made custom Atrium/Garden windows. Always used newspaper and Windex. If used properly, newspaper is always the best.

I use the two bit car spray wash on my Miata and I found that if I got any of their spray wax on the windshield it was a bitch down the road to get rid of streaks. Took a while for me to catch what was happening. The Windex worked well on the Oldsmobile same rag and cleaner didn't work on the Miata..... Just a thought....Tedd

Been doing commercial glass and mirrors since 1978.
I Use a mixture of 50% white vinegar and 50% tap water. (For extremely dirty, buggy or muddy glass use a soap and water mixture first then the 50-50)
I also Use a newspaper to clean with....works every time with no streaks.
Sprayway now has different formulas for different degrees of cleaning. The ones you can buy retail is the most basic.
To see them all from basic to extreme cleaning go to www.crlaurence.com and enter search for "spray cleaners".

BTW...C.R. Laurence just might have that windshield molding clip, trim clips and auto glass window hardware you've been looking for. They have an automotive catalog as well for replacing windshields, car side glass, sunroofs, back sliding truck windows and your custom van windows......"wait that's not all...for an additional shipping and handling"......sorry couldn't help adding that last part....
