Sport Mirrors

I was wondering if door mirrors from a 78 or 79 cutlass supreme will fit a 72 cutlass supreme? They all look the same to me, but you never know. Am not even sure if they are called sport mirrors in the later years.

The mirror heads are the same, but the uprights are slightly different. The 71-72 uprights are a little shorter and the base is at a slightly different angle to match the doorskin. You can use them but then the heads are tipped in a little, not parallel to the ground.

I read somewhere that all 71-77 are the same? Now that I think about it more I can see why 78 and up will be slightly different.

I have file fit mirrors to cars before you just have to take your time, when you get close not to remove to much stock off the base. You must also make sure that the mount points are still strong enough to hold the mirror to the door. I would just find originals but the option to file fit is there.

I put a set on 72 VC,and had to turn the rubber gaskets upside down to get a better angle.
