Speedminder speedometer

Speedminder speedometer
Does anyone have any idea what this speedminder speedometer came out of? I've had it for over 19 years and, although it looks similar to the speedminder speedometer in my '68 4-4-2, it's not the same. The two posts on the back are different. The label is green instead of red. The printed circuit board is blue instead of green. There's a date of "8-66" roughed into the printed circuit board on the back. I'm pretty sure it's out of a '67, but '67 what? Thank you!

I don't think it's 67, even with that date. Pretty sure it's 68-69 probably a big Olds like a Delta or something. I think that's when they started the pods. I have a speedo around here somewhere that mounts the same.

I wouldn't say they were very common, but yes Olds used them too. I've found a couple on 68-72 Cutlass/442's.
It is a nice looking piece Randy, and from the front looks just like a floor shift unit I removed from a 1968 Delta Custom.

It's like a lot of options that weren't on every car. Back in the day, they weren't real common, maybe. But if you go to the Nats you will see a LOT of them. Things like that were salvaged, the cars were junked, now peeps put them on their restos. I think Brothers has a couple in their inventory.

After looking at Delmontcruiser's postings about his car, I'm pretty sure the speedo pod I pictured above is out of a '67 Delmont 88. The face on the speedo looks identical and the date on the printed circuit board would be consistent with a '67 model car.

I wouldn't say they are real common.I have owned a total of three.I kept one for myself.Mine were all for the floor-shift cars, but have seen a few for column-shift as well. It's hard to put a value on them.
