Speakers from Electro-Tech

Any one use the replacement speakers from Electro-Tech? I need one for a 71 442 AM FM radio and wondered if they fit and work properly. Thanks John

If you are talking about the front speaker, the version for the aftermarket radios need to have the support bracket modified.

Once installed, it looks factory and sounds good.

it is a real biotch to install, especially with A/C.

Thanks no A/C . Their website is not clear on which one is correct but it does show one with an olds bracket which is the right bracket. Do you recall the one you bought?

I bought the one that goes with the aftermarket radios.

The mods to the bracket were minimal.

I have the original speaker in my car and have clear access to it with the dash apart (how you could ever get to it otherwise with A/C I have no idea) I rarely listen to the radio since it is a convertible - is it worth replacing the speaker or will my 40 year old speaker be ok ( I think I know the answer but I'm tired of spending money)

Personally if I was already in there and had access to it I would replace it.
