some help?
Im Bill, im in ohio...I'm a car guy! I have been a member of the site for about 2 years this is my first post! I have a 60 olds super 88 holiday 2 door hardtop. Im the second owner. The car is rough, but very complete, it runs ,drives , and stops . I love the car, but I realize with so many projects that i should sell the 60 oldsmobile, what would the value of this car be? I have been thinking in the $6500 range, but not sure? I can text pictures, but not able to post or email any.. thanks for any help, Bill
I doubt that any of us could give you a really good price, because none of us has seen many of these change hands.
That being said, we've all got our favorite reference sources, and Collector Car Market Review rated your car at $6,550 in #4 condition and $2,150 in #5 condition.
As Eric noted, without a lot more information, only you know what "rough" means.

I just don't see $6500 there, the car needs a total resto. Desirability for these models is narrow and not many change hands regularly. You can start at the price your thinking but understandably you may have to settle for something considerably lower.
"#4 Fair: runs and drives OK but needs work throughout the vehicle. Body shows signs of wear or previous restoration work. Any rust should be minimal and not in any structural areas. Cosmetics, body, and mechanics all need work to some degree.
"#5 Poor: In need of complete restoration, but is complete and not a rust bucket beyond repair. May or may not run. Not roadworthy."
This car is in the 5-ish range, so about $2,000, $3,000 if all the stars align, the wind is right, the buyer just won the lottery, and his grandfather had one just like it.

I don't think it is close to a $6500 car but it does have some things going for it. It is a 2 door hardtop. The rust in the bottom of the fenders and the rockers is a pretty easy fix. The rest looks like surface rust. The fact that it runs, drives and stops is a big plus. You really don't see a lot of these trade. I don't know if that is because there just aren't many of them or that they are just not desirable. I think it is in the $3000 to $3500 range and that is just a guess on my part. If you find the person whose mom had one new you will have hit the jackpot. Good luck on the sale.
I had one just like it. Mine was in need of a total restoration too, but had less rust over all. Mine was 100% original, right down to the hose clamps. The big difference between yours and mine, is that mine had not ran for at least 25 years.
I struggled to sell mine, but finally, someone in England bought it for 3,500. I think that's right, but it a has been a few years back now.
I'm sure the buyer had another 1,500. invested in it, just in shipping.
I hope this helps.
