From Small Block to Big Block

Well, the transformation is complete. I changed out the small block to a 455 with Edelbrock heads, air gap intake, etc, etc. Here's a video of the changes. The daytime video is of the car with the small block and the nighttime video is with the big block. Any rubber generated at night was in 2nd gear. It's not worth it to clutch dump the car as the tires will roast at 35 mph now. Enjoy!

Very cool man! That 2nd gear pull is the definition of torque!

Yep, that's just great! Was your small block a 350, or something else? It's interesting to me that the sound between an Olds small and big block is more similar than with the small and big blocks of other brands. There's an Olds 350 that shows up to a cruise night I go to, it sounds almost identical to mine. It's a helpful characteristic when I'm telling people I've got a 260.

64, the BB has something in the neighborhood of .525 lift. Not sure of the duration. I have to find the cards to give you the right specs exactly. I have a shop that I'm friendly with here. They have a chassis dyno. I'm going to find out what it puts to the tires. I'm curious. And yeah, the old motor was a 350.
Man your car runs 10s!?? That's a hauler right there! Great looking too.
I will do a video in the daytime with the BB as well. I just got the bug last night and took her out. The dog was in the back seat then too. He is in the original small block video, sticking his head out. Hilarious!
