Yoke

That 32 spline yoke was used on 4x4 vehicles not a car. Car versions do not normally have u bolt u joint on them. This is typical Car TH400 yoke.

I think Spicer's stuff was more truck as well, typically. I could be wrong.

Koda I believe you are correct. Those 1350 Spicer u joints are for a truck. I have 2 solid 1350's now in my setup and had 9 inch built with billet 1350 nose and saddle to handle everything.

You can use a regular car slip yoke on a bolt on output shaft by either machining the slip yoke for the Oring, or machining off the o-ring groove from the output shaft.

The car slip yoke will hit the O-ring retaining groove, preventing the yoke from slipping over the output shaft the last 3/4 inch.

Right. And also of note. The in the original pics this is an open yoke that is designed for a transfer case not being placed inside the output shaft of the transmission.

That TH400 trans yoke is from a Corvette. The ones used in trucks or other vehicles with a multi-part driveshaft will have a provision to allow it to be bolted to the output shaft. This one still slips on the splines.

Joe is it just the clip on the output shaft that keeps the fluid from seeping or what?

There should be an o-ring on the output shaft that seals to the ID of the yoke.

the op was asking what the bolt on yoke was used on. I was explaining how to use a bolt on yoke output shaft trans in a slip yoke application.

Bolt on yokes were used in trucks with divorced transfer cases, and trucks that use a driveshaft with a carrier bearing.
