Should I change to a Clutch fan?

I have a 72 Cutlass and I had a couple of fan blades broken. The engine is a 350 and I was wondering should I put a clutch fan in place of just the straight fan?

I would. It will cool better and be quieter.

Our cars always seem to cool better with all of the stock components installed. What caused the broken fan blades?

Assuming you were running a flex fan. Which is what usually acts like that. A clutch fan and a fan shroud would be best. Flex fans are junk

If it ran fine with the original setup, then just replace the fan. It will also run fine with the a clutch fan setup and stock shroud.

flex fans, i never understood why anyone would want to use them, especially after hearing stories of them coming apart.
