Shipping a dash, tips and pointers?

I need to ship a dash and wanted to get feedback from anyone that has shipped one as far as how you packaged it. Obviously I want it to be secure and safe but also packaged as small as possible to save the buyer some money.

It will be a custom made box, then double box it. I use a big piece of cardboard like from an appliance. Tape all seams and edges. Pack it well with bubble wrap or styro peanuts. Double boxed packed tight w filler it should travel well. Add insurance too.

if its very nice build a crate out of 2x3 and use luan or similar , but still pack it tight w filler.

if theres any movement when you shake the box its notpacked well enough.

i wonder how a place like just dashes packs their product?

When a box is made, wrap the dash in plastic and place in the box on foam blocks.
Then spray "Blue foam insulation" (Door and Window type) 360 degrees around the dash and on the ends.
Let it cure and it should be fine to ship.

I've used several layers of bubble wrap. Make the box large enough that you can have a snug fit with the bubble wrap around it. Take pictures of the package before you ship in case it does get damaged and you have to file a claim.

Go to a bicycle shop. Good chance you can get a bicycle box and cut it down.

Be really safe in PVC but not sure how cheap 8 or 10" PVC is.
What about an 8 or 10" sonic tube with some plywood end caps wood screwed into the ends?

A dash isn't fitting in a 10" tube, 12" maybe.

Whole dash, 72. The buyer says FedEx has a perfect size box so I'm going to try that. If not I like the idea of a 12" concrete form tube.
