The search for factory docs and ..........

Good afternoon,

Over the years my daughters have taken an interest in my Olds since I have a few. They are always asking questions and want to learn more all the time about them. I can say that they have taken a BIG interest in the W cars. They also believe that they each will be receiving one when they get older!thay already have chosen the one each wants. It's kind of funny to listen to them talk about it.

The girls understand the importance of factory docs for our Oldsmobiles and also know of various places in the car where a broadcast sheet - or build sheet can be found. They have heard many discussions on this topic with friends, family, and my wife. They have also witnessed me searching for paperwork in the other cars I have.

I had knee surgery last week and therefore have been around the house quite a bit. My oldest daughter asked me if we can go on a "paperwork" search in the F85 I just picked up. So out we went for a look , my 4 daughters ages 11,10,9, and 6 and me!

So last night, We pulled out the F85- searched in the door panels, under the carpet, and under the rear seats------ no luck, nothing at all!!! Still have the bench seat to check???
(I already have Canadian docs for this car)

Next, we briefly looked through my Burnished Gold 70W30 and again nothing in the seats, under the carpet or in the door panels.

So this morning my girls ask if we can search the other cars. So out we went after breakfast to look in the 69W30. The first place we looked was under the carpets. We removed the sill plates from the passenger side and peeled the carpet back - nothing but a few small screws that look like they have been there a long time. Next, over to the driver side, my oldest removes the sill plate, one of my other daughters peels back the carpet behind the driver seat and BANG a MINT broadcast card sitting right there. The girls were so excited, high fiving each other and me. They were jumping up and down laughing and enjoying the moment like they won the World Series , Superbowl, or the Stanley Cup.
(I already have Canadian docs for this car)

What a site to see - something I will always remember. What a great day!!

Cheers,

Great pictures. If there's a chance that they will actually each get a car one day, it would be cool to take a big panoramic picture now with each one opening the door of the car she will have - when they're old ladies, they'll all get a kick out of seeing themselves with their cars as little kids.
