Am I the only one amused by the fact that apparently all the 442s that show up at auction are "W-30s"?
Don't get me started about some of the claims in the ads... (OOPS, too late )
The 72 Supreme with W-25 hood, W-30 stripes, and wing:
How about the 72 H/O:
Or the 1972 "W-30" convertible:
And don't forget the 1972 Faux-Four-Two convertible with the "rare power convertible top" (anyone ever see a 72 convertible with a MANUAL top???) and of course the Demo Man car.

Don't kill the messenger on this one fellas. I think a good portion of them are falsely claimed in some way, shape, or form, and it will be interesting to see the inflated prices being paid. NOt to mention how many actually come with documentation. Just thought I would post them in case anyone wants to watch them go on SPEED next week. I like watching the bigwigs throw money at them like they can afford to burn it. In any case, enjoy.

Hey Dom,
Thanks! I don't anyone is "shooting at ya" here; they're just noting the "Classic BJ HYPE" that occurs each year there and the Hyper-Inflated Ads for the cars themselves. I hadn't seen this list and appreciate you posting. Anyone besides me trying to go see part of it live that weekend??

How about the '92 88 with a scrap title? Everybody wants one of those---right? It looks like it might be an early production vehicle (V.I.N. ending in 00013) but when did a '92 anything become collectible?

YEAH! EXACTLY! LOL! (They'll have some LAME story about it being a car "Burt Reynolds drove in some movie..." or a Lindsay Lohan connection...the star attraction angle....amazing you'll see things that run the gamut at this!)

They are all great cars, but if I had a choice to own one of them (but not by current market value), I want this one! So no one is to bid against me. Lol Tom

(Joe- I posted this initially before seeing that you had the VIN listed for this one but...) I can confirm that the red convertible is a 1-of-66 V Code 455/M20 and not an X-code W-30. It was sold out of the Philadelphia area about 8 years ago and already had the W-30 stripes/OAI and wing at that time. It went to the San Diego area where it went MIA until resurfacing about a month ago.

Yeah, I did notice that. Gives me a good look at it and what to finish and how. TK-65 reiterated as well that the 64 was black and in '65 it was some sort of gray or silver I think. I'll be making mine black after two or three confirmations from different sources. Still have to find one of those shifters though. Anyone know where to get those. Hurst doesn't have them reproduced.

My prediction is that this Starfire will land the most money of all the Oldsmobiles, though I'm sure either one of the '70 W-30s will give it a run for the money.
