saved from crusher

hi guys , i have inherited a 79 cutlass supreme that was headed for the crusher from my brother. he had the car for the last 15 years and it was about to die. came with the chevy 305 and had over 200 thousand miles was over heating badly and running like crap. i got a call to come get it or it was going to the crusher , he had tried to trade it in but they didn't want it. so i'm gonna need some help finding parts. the interior needs molding and weather striping other than that not to bad. the body in decent shape may need bumpers if i can't get the rust off and i'm going to replace the 305 with a 350. has a fairly new 350 trans new exhaust and brakes. so here i go wish me luck. tom , if someone can tell me how to post pic's i will send some.

Hey glad to see you here. I saw your application for membership the other day when I was doing some maintenance in the admin cp. Glad to hear that you are replacing the chevy engine with a 350, hope you mean an Olds 350 .

the 1979 cutlass came from the factory with a 305 chevy motor , chevy 350 trans , and chevy rear-end. i have installed the limited slip posi carrier out of an 86 Z-28 i had lying around and already have a chevy 350 rebuilt so i am going that route. hope this dosen't get me banned but it would be rather expensive to replace with old's drive train now. tom

almost ready to install motor , would really like to post pic's of the progress iv'e made but for some reason i can't. anyway the engine compartment was a total disaster [years of oil leaks] so several hours of scraping wipeing and wire brushing almost ready for paint. then the new motor install. i know alot of you guys here don't like chevy motors but the car came with a chevy 305 .this one is a 350 truck block bored 30 over with kb hypertectic pistons ,true roller double chain and gears high volumn melling pump with moroso pick-up , gm perf rods moly rings all clevite 77 bearings. comp cam , lifters , heads redone with big valves headers and a weiand intake and edelbrock 600 cfm carb. tom
