save the doors or scrap them?

i have a couple trim parts to pull off this car then it is off to the scrap yard. i have seen worse doors fixed but these are not great. the front edge under the weather strip is rusted out. along the bottom is not that bad. they do have good glass in them. are 68 post doors hard enough to find that i should save these? anyone want to pick them up for scrap price? i have scraped stuff in the past that i now regret and don't want to do it again.

Gosh, I was under the impression that most of the 68/69 parts were hard to find in any condition. You've got some good trim pieces, reveal moldings, trunk deck??? that may be very usable. If the rot isn't too bad on the whole door and could be patched, I'd save them if I had storage space. These cars keep getting fewer and farther between. Anyway that's my opinion..

the trunk lid is junk. beyond trying to save. the surprising thing is that the trunk light was nice looking under the junk lid.

I would save them.Get all that trim,also-inside and out.It is the weird little items that will never be repoped that you want.As Allan R said, fewer and farther between. ---bil

I would save them also,I'm sure there is someone out there that would think your doors are better than what they are planning on saving

Unless the surface rust on the uppers is real deep. The bottoms are an easy repair. Cut it out and weld new in. I would save them.

thanks guys, i will pull them and stick them somewhere. how about someone coming to get them. then i don't have to store them. i may stick them on eBay with no opening bid or reserve but boxing them up for shipping will be a killer.

Post a for-sale ad for them on this site. Post your location and specify prefer pickup. I did a similar thing for a set of Ford door shells, but it took 2 years for them to get picked up... One had some rust but was "much better" then the set the buyer had.

Maybe sell the glass and internal parts separately - those will be needed as well by others.

welcome. there is nothing left to the car other than what is in the 2 pictures. the back seat bottom may be a good core and the back arm rests may be ok but nothing else.
