I'm having the cracked windshield on my '65 Vista Cruiser replaced soon, at Safelite. All in, $373.60. Manager is an old-car guy, so that's reassuring. Other than confirming the tint and shade-band on the new glass, any other thoughts?
Nice the windshield is available. That's a good price. I've used Safelite on a number of occasions & I have been very satisfied w/ their installations.
Ask the installer if he wouldn't mind forgetting to take his can of Safelite windshield cleaner with him - excellent windshield cleaner. My past two Safelite windshield installs the guys were happy to leave a can.
I bought a windshield for my 66 Sport Wagon from a large junk yard out here in Denver. Svigels. They had been in business for 40+ years. (They closed a few years ago.) I went down to get it. Turned out it was made in Mexico with cheap cheap glass. Not saying Safelite uses that. I am sure they probably don't. Just more of an FYI for people.
If Safelite doesn't come through for you call Senneco in Cuyahoga Falls. They do great work and he is also and old school guy that will treat you well. They just did my 72 a few weeks ago.
Sounds like a good price. I was quoted $150 each window just to remove them on my vista so do the math, there are six if you include the windshield. This was a local glass company not Safelite and that was for removal only. I did them myself.
